What captured the imagination of technology enthusiasts in the mid-1920s? It must have been communication and the ability to transmit sound over large distances. In visually appealing scenes from everyday domestic life, work, and leisure, the film showcases the various applications of the radio technology that had become the medium of the decade back then. The subject matter also gave the cinematographers an excuse to include footage of sports events that were popular at the time, and the growing presence of new technologies in everyday life. The film, promoting radio as a modern marvel, was produced by Praesens-Film of Zurich and Commerz-Film from Berlin for the Schweizerische Rundspruch Gesellschaft (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation).
