Two tramps, prosecuted by the police for vagrancy, end up in a posh palace - a situation that creates endless opportunities for further misunderstandings and piled-up trouble for the main characters. Until recently, the film was considered lost, but several incomplete copies have been found. A major difficulty was the fact that these were different distributor versions, bearing numerous later alterations, including boards in foreign languages and an accompanying soundtrack. We are now presenting a copy digitally restored by the French company Lobster Films in 2019-2020, a collaboration between Lobster Films, the British Film Institute, the Library of Congress and FINA. There is a copy in our collection with boards in Polish. It turned out, that this particular copy contains short fragments that have not survived in any of the other copies of this film that have been found.
