Krenz

Krenz – the bass guy. He draws his inspirations from genres such as jungle, breakcore, illbient, or dubstep, collectively referred to as UK BASS. The second cornerstone of Krenz’s sound is the local vibe of the Warsaw neighborhood that lends his productions their more hip-hop edge. The Warsaw-based producer has released three albums so far: KRENZ REBORN (2021), BOŻE DAJ MI BREAK (2023), and this year’s POLSKI SKLEP. Krenz’s trademark is his collaborations with rappers—both the older generation, including Hades (HiFi Banda) and Kosi (JWP), as well as the new wave of experimental rappers from groups like Tonfa and Ziomcy. Krenz has also provided his beats for Borys Szymczak from the punk band Laxity.

Krenz’s claustrophobic yet futuristic beats inevitably evoke the vision of a city as a sprawling behemoth filled with shady districts and illicit activities. This makes his music an excellent fit for the first three acts of Doctor Mabuse by Fritz Lang, in which we learn about "the dark affairs of the past inhabitants of Berlin," including brutal robberies, money laundering, illegal gambling, and corruption.
