MAREK „LATARNIK” PĘDZIWIATR
Marek „Latarnik” Pędziwiatr
A versatile artist and musician, Marek’s flagship projects are EABS, Błoto and Ludojad. In these formations, he fulfils himself as a pianist, keyboard player, arranger and composer, fluently moving between different aspects of jazz, electronics, hip-hop and improvised music. Before he became fascinated with keyboards, he was involved in rapping and hip-hop production, sampling from vinyl records. He currently combines all these skills in his own unique style. He has collaborated with Jeru the Damaja, Marcus Miller, Michał Urbaniak and Ewa Bem, among others. He won a Fryderyk 2018 in the Electronic Music category for producing Paulina Przybysz's album Chodź tu and a Mateusz Award from Polish Radio 3 (popularly known as Trójka) for Jazz Event of the Year 2017 for his band EABS. Since 2018, he has won the Jazz Top poll in Jazz Forum magazine in the Synthesizer category, and twice been nominated for a Polityka Passport award (in 2017 and 2020).
