Bartek Wąsik

A pianist, composer and arranger, Bartek is also one of the co-creators of the Lutosławski Piano Duo and the band Kwadrofonik, winners of a Polityka Passport award. With the latter, he has twice won Folk Phonogram of the Year – for the albums Folklove and Folk Requiem featuring Adam Strug. 2020 saw the release of his Fryderyk Award-winning album Astronomia poety. Baczyński, with songs based on the poems of K.K. Baczyński and performed by Kwadrofonik and Mela Koteluk. The selection of the poems, the songs and the musical concept of the project were worked on together by Mela Koteluk and Bartek Wąsik, who was also responsible for the musical arrangement. As a soloist, he has presented his own arrangements of Frédéric Chopin’s works at Carnegie Hall and the Symphony Center in Chicago. He was also responsible for arranging the songs for the album Nowa Warszawa by Stanisława Celińska, and he has collaborated with Jan Komasa, Artur Rojek and Katarzyna Nosowska, among others.
