Jachna/Buhl/Ziołek

Hailing from the well-established music scene in Bydgoszcz, drummer Jacek Buhl and trumpeter Wojciech Jachna are big names in the world of jazz and improvised music. The former began his career at the turn of the 90s as the drummer in the new wave band Variété and the founders of the yass music style, Trytony, while Jachna came to the fore at the start of the 21st century when he was involved with the groups Contemporary Noise Quintet and Sing Sing Penelope, among others. In recent years, the musicians have often shared a stage together and their releases with double-bassist Jacek Mazurkiewicz have all been enthusiastically received. During the Silent Movie Festival, Jachna and Buhl will join forces with another mainstay of the Bydgoszcz music scene - Jakub Ziołek, a Polityka Passport laureate with whom they worked together on albums under the name of Alameda 5 and Innercity Ensemble. The trio will perform the music for the film Sherlock Holmes. (JB)
